Aimee Hemmer, LPC, RPT, NCC, CCMHC, BC-TMH
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Arkansas State University and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Henderson State University. My experience includes work with severely mentally ill adults in outpatient and inpatient settings, adults in acute hospitalization, children in outpatient school-based treatment and residential psychiatric care for children ages 5-13.
My specialization is play therapy and trauma focused therapy with children. I have treated numerous kids experiencing the effects of trauma and have a passion for helping children and families heal from these challenges. I have been trained as a Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist through UAMS and completed Level One of Theraplay through the Theraplay Institute in Chicago. I am an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained therapist as well.
My goal is to provide a relaxed, nonjudgmental environment where I can partner with clients to identify solutions to their struggles in order to move toward improved functioning, health and healing. I am excited to work with children and families in our community!
